Interior Paint
Surface Preparation: Depending on the space will determine the course. Cleaning walls, trim, & ceilings Repairing cracks, nail pops, & dents Caulking gaps around trim Sanding glossy surfaces Priming stains or dark colors
Protection of your home and assets is always a priority. Always making sure to complete the following as a standard of care. Protecting the floors with drop cloths, plastic, or rosin paper. Furniture that may need to be moved or covered. Countertops, fixtures, or appliances that need covering or taping. Creating a space that controls the dust if need be.
Quality products make the difference in the longevity of the project. Sherwin-Williams is a great product with something for every space. Depending on the price point and quality of the product, there is something for everyone's budget. Understanding what type of finish is right for the space really sets the tone. Flat: Typically used for ceilings. There is no shine to this sheen. Matte: Almost flat with a velvety look, little to almost no shine. Hides bumps and flaws very well. Creates a very modern space, highlighting a rich and soft look. Eggshell: Very low sheen with a soft & subtle glow. Truly the most popular choice because you have that almost flat look with a wipeable surface that can last. Satin: Very soft finish that ranges in the mid-sheen range. An excellent balance between durability and light reflection. Semi-gloss: Extreme durable and moisture resistant coating. Great for surfaces that may need to be wiped or cleaned frequently. Really bounces light off the surface creating a very polished bright look. High-gloss: Highly reflective, glass-like appearance. Offers maximum durability, & exceptional moisture resistance. And finally understanding the right color for your space can make or break the look you're going for. Living Rooms, Kitchens & Family Areas Warm Grieges/ Mushrooms Earthy Khakis Jewel Tones (A bit riskier) Bedrooms Botanical Greens Tranquil Blues Earth Tones Hallways & Entryways Off-Whites Warm Neutrals Powdery Blues Bathrooms Softer Sage Blue-Gray Tones Greiges/ Creams White (Always popular) Jewel Luxury Tones (Again a bit riskier)
Application process can depend on the space and recommendation of how to effectively and efficiently complete the project. Brush & roll is the typical route for painting interiors walls. The attention to detail is really the main goal with this method. Spraying in an interior space is really best for when the project is new construction and there are no furniture or other items in the way. Smooth & even coating is important for a full coverage. Attention to detail with the cut-in and clean lines really makes the space look pristine. Determining the different sheens and colors is a conversation with the painter to ensure you feel confident in your decision.

Cabinets & Finish
To create that factory finish look the process can be extensive but, in the end, absolutely worth it. Handing your kitchen over to be transformed can take about a week give or take depending on the size. Also deciding whether or not to paint or refinishing can depend on the type of wood or quality of your doors. Sometimes asking for a re-door is the best option. Sometimes the quality of your doors is not worth spending the money to refinish or paint.
When understanding what type of equipment can give you that factory finish, there is many different options. Air Assisted Sprayer - delivers the high-production speed of a traditional airless system combined with the fine-finish control of an air spray. Airless Sprayer - pumps coating fluid through a specialized tip at extreme pressure—typically between 1,500 and 3,300 PSI—without using any compressed air. HVLP System - uses a high volume of low-pressure air (typically 1 to 10 PSI) to atomize paint into a soft, highly controlled mist.
Deciding whether or not you want the same hardware is important before the process starts. Choosing between a handle or knobs or using both is really the easy part. Finding that style that fits you best along with the color or shade can be overwhelming. Typical Color Matches Per Cabinet Color/ Stain White or Cream Cabinets -Matte black -Polished brass or gold -Brushed or satin Nickel Gray & Blue Cabinets Light cool, gray - polished nickel or chrome Warm gray/taupe - antique or sassy brass Navy or dark green - champagne bronze or unlacquered brass or copper Wood Stains Oak or maple - matte black or brushed nickel Walnut or espresso - brushed brass, warm gold or polished nickel Cherry or traditional oak - oil-rubbed bronze or aged brass
Before applying the product a thorough cleaning is completed. Once the doors are ready for primer/paint or stain the process is extensive with dry times between coats and sanding for a premium finish to shine through. Currently we use the Sherwin-Williams products on our projects unless otherwise requested by the client to use another product.
